This is the Best Pair of Bluetooth Headphones you Can Buy

It's harder to find a good pair of Bluetooth headphones than it is to find a good wired pair.

For one, Bluetooth headphones tend to be more expensive than wired headphones that offer similar, if not better, sound quality. And the price of Bluetooth headphones can skyrocket when extra features like noise-cancelling get into the mix.

But for some, including myself, the wired option is no longer an option. I've had it with cable snags and the weird body contortions I do to prevent them. So, I'm willing to spend a little more for a cable-free life.

Despite their high $379 price tag, the Beat Studio Wireless are a popular option for those seeking high-end Bluetooth sound. The sound pretty good, but $379 is a huge amount of money to spend on any headphones, and the sound quality on the Beats simply don't justify that enormous price tag.

I also tried the $200 Plantronics BackBeat Sense Bluetooth headphones ($166 on Amazon at the time of writing), but found they were lacking in bass, and they don't have any noise-cancelling features.

So what's the best Bluetooth pair I've encountered so far that's reasonably priced?

Sony's MDR-ZX770BN. I know, the name doesn't quite roll off the tongue as well as "Beats Studio Wireless," nor do they look as sleek, but nomeclature and looks don't matter here. I'll call them the "Sonys" from here on out.

What does matter is that the Sonys sound amazing for Bluetooth headphones under $200 (you can buy them from Amazon for $179.99 at the time of writing).

They sound better than the well-acclaimed $379 Beats in every way. The bass is sharper and clearer on the Sonys, which makes for punchier bass that still sounds rich and full. The Beats also sound muffled compared to the Sonys, which is especially noticeable in the higher trebble frequencies. As a result, the Sonys sound brighter, but not enough to sound shrill.
